Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most interesting game of round 27 was a home defeat of their close opponent Piratas (17-15) to fourth ranked Atleticos (18-14) 95-87. Atleticos made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. It was a great evening for American guard Nate Mason (188-1995, college: Minnesota) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points and 9 assists. International forward Jose Rodriguez (201-1992, college: Texas Southern) helped adding 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Atleticos' coach Manuel Cintron used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was the former international point guard Gary Browne (185-1993, college: WVU) with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists. Atleticos moved-up to second place, which they share with Ponce and Santurce. Piratas lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with 15 games lost. They share it with Mayaguez.
The game between Top Four teams took place in Quebradillas. 4th placed host Piratas (17-15) were smashed by first ranked Vaqueros (23-9) 99-79. It was an exceptional evening for the former international point guard Angel Rodriguez (180-1992, college: Miami, FL) who led the winners and scored 24 points and 7 assists (perfect behind the arc making all five shots). Kristian Doolittle accounted for 16 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. American forward Devin Robinson (203-1995, college: Florida) came up with 18 points and 7 rebounds for Piratas in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Vaqueros maintains first place with 23-9 record. Piratas lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with 15 games lost. They share it with Mayaguez.

At the other side the best for losing team was Brandon Davis who recorded 22 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Capitanes have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 22-10 record. Brujos lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 24 games lost. They share it with Humacao.

In the last game of round 27 San German lost to Guaynabo on the opponent's court 102-109.



Guayama - Arecibo 79-97

BSN top team - Capitanes (22-10) had no problems winning another game on Tuesday. This time they beat sixth ranked Brujos (8-24) in Guayama 97-79. They outrebounded Brujos 40-24 including 26 on the defensive glass. Capitanes looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. The best player for the winners was Nigerian-American power forward Chinemelu Elonu (206-1987, college: Texas A&M) who scored 14 points and 8 rebounds. International Devon Collier (203-1991, college: Oregon St.) chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds. Capitanes' coach Rafael Cruz used entire bench saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Brandon Davis (188-2000, college: Sacramento St.) who recorded 22 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists and the other American import guard Diego Maldonado (195-1995, college: Queens, NY) added 24 points respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Capitanes have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 22-10 record. Brujos lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 24 games lost. They share it with Humacao.

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Guaynabo where 4th placed Atleticos (18-14) were defeated by fifth ranked Mets (14-18) 109-102 on Sunday. Mets made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. The best player for the winners was naturalized American Melsahn Basabe (206-1992, college: Iowa) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field). Australian swingman Mitch Creek (196-1992) chipped in 23 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Rondae Hollis-Jefferson (201-1995, college: Arizona) who recorded 31 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and international forward Jose Rodriguez (201-1992, college: Texas Southern) added 20 points and 12 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Mets moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Carolina. Atleticos at the other side dropped to the second position with 14 games lost. They share it with Ponce and Santurce.
